A silver and gold cigarette case with a striped pattern to the front and back with a clip side fitting opening with a black onyx button to reveal a gilt interior the bottom edge engraved ''Mappin and Webb'' with a French hallmark on either side also engraved ''To H. Cholerton with best wishes from L. A. Hordern 1 Sept 1928'' the Hordern family were a notable family of retailers in Sydney. Serial number 1237. All in an orginal leather box marked inside ''Mappin & Webb Londres Paris 1 Rue De La Paix''.
